And while some cities have long been considered cultural capitals, the term’s current popularity has been attributed to its ability to capture and define a large swath of the United Kingdom, for example, or its status as a global hub for creative industries.
But a recent report from the New York Times suggests that while cultural capital may have some value in many other parts of the world, it’s also important to the United Sates.
The Times found that while the U.S. is already seeing an increase in the number of tourists coming to the country, it is also having an effect on the cultural landscape as a whole.
The number of visitors to the U
